VanHoose, Hedrick lead Lady Golden Eagles past Pikeville

Johnson Central pitcher Chloe VanHoose threw an one-hit shutout to lead the Lady Eagles.

VanHoose led the Lady Golden Eagles to a 6-0 win over Pikeville Tuesday evening.

Pikeville’s offense was held at bay.

Alyssa Hedrick blasted a home run late to put the final touches on the win for the Lady Eagles.

Randi Delong picked up Pikeville’s lone hit. Kendal Hall, Kaitlyn Damron and Kelcie Adams all drew walks to reach base for the Lady Panthers.

Pikeville pitcher Emily Ford suffered the loss on the mound. Ford gave up six runs (five earned) on four hits, while striking out nine and walking one batter.

Pikeville fell to 19-11 on the season with the loss.

The Lady Panthers are scheduled to host Pike Central at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening.
