Paintsville was dominant Thursday night in the opening round of the Class A playoffs.

How dominant?

The Tigers defeated Fairview 67-0.

Yes, 67-0.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 8-3 on the season.

Paintsville only gave up 32 total yards of offense to Fairview in the shutout.

The Tigers didn’t have that problem as Paintsville  gained 473 total yards of offense.

Junior quarterback Jake Hyden was three for three passing for 80 yards and two TDs. He added 30 yards on the ground and a TD on two carries. Backup quarterback Frederick James was one for one passing for 28 yards.

Harris Phelps led the Paintsville running attack. Harris Phelps rushed for 124 yards and two TDs on six carries. John Walker Phelps followed with 82 yards rushing and two TDs on just four carries. Justin Ramey added 70 yards rushing and two TDs on six carries. Jonah Porter added 27 yards and a TD on four carries.

Karsten Poe led the Tiger receivers with three catches for 80 yards and two TDs. Grayson Peters added a 28-yard catch.

Luke Hyden led the defense with five total tackles.

Nick Keeton added a sack.

Jaylyn Allen forced a fumble and Porter recovered it.

Paintsville advances to the second round of the Class A playoffs. The Tigers will host the winner of Raceland and Betsy Layne.
