Lady Golden Eagles place third in regional tournament

The Johnson Central Lady Golden Eagles’ Golf Team.

Johnson Central’s Lady Eagles participated in the Region 10 Individual golf tournament Monday evening. The event was held at Raven Rock Golf Course in Jenkins. 

Johnson Central’s Zoee Crum won first place with a score of 79. This is her fourth regional championship and makes the seventh time qualifying for the State Golf Tournament. 

Crum also played a pivotal role in four team regional titles in her career. 

Johnson Central just barely missed an appearance at state as a team. The Lady Eagles finished third overall in the team category. 

The top two teams advance to state, which in Region 10 was Powell County with a score of 412 and coming in second was Hazard with a score of 494.  

Estill County’s Maddi Benton came in second behind Crum with a score of 86. Sophia Beverly from Shelby Valley was third with an 88. Tiffany Lin from Pikeville rounded out the state qualifiers from Region 10 with a score of 92.
