Over the weekend, the Johnson Central Golden Eagles came one step closer to the KHSAA State Wrestling Tournament nearly sweeping the Region 8 Tournament.

The Golden Eagles dominated in team points with 309.

That margin is 141 points more than the next closest school.

As a team, Johnson Central posted the most pins in the shortest amount of time with 24 in 29:42.

James Morris placed first in 106, Adam Williams placed first in 113, Patrick Meeks placed first in 120, Caleb Barnes placed first in 126,  Jacob Cain placed first in 132, Seth Davis placed first in 138, Reece Goss placed first in 145, Logan Castle placed first in 152, Zack McCourt placed first in 160, Nick Stapleton placed second in 170, Chase Price placed first in 182, Levid Rodriguez placed first in 195, Jesse McCoy placed second in 285.
