Johnson Central went 3-0 this weekend in the People’s Bank Classic at Greenup County.
The Golden Eagles picked up a 20-7 win over Greenup County Friday night before knocking off Walton-Verona 13-2 and Wheelersburg (Ohio) 12-2 Saturday.

The Johnson Central bats were on fire Friday evening exploding for 20 runs.
Ryan Sartin-Slone went three for four with a home run and four RBIs in the win. Chayce Meade also homered for the Golden Eagles. Hunter McCloud doubled, hit two singles, drove in two runs and scored two runs. Blake Delong went two for four with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Ryley Preece added two doubles, four RBIs and scored three runs. Cody Rice went two for two with two RBIs and three runs scored. Connor LeMaster added a hit.
Grant Davis picked up the win on the mound for the Golden Eagles. He threw five and 1/3 innings or work and gave up seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits and he struck out three. Sartin-Slone threw 2/3 innings of relief work.

Johnson Central had another big offensive game against Walton-Verona cruising to the big win in five innings.
LeMaster went three for four with two doubles to lead the way at the plate. Sartin-Slone went two for four with an RBI and a run scored. Delong went two for three with a double and four RBIs. Rice added two hits, two RBIs and three runs scored. Weston May went two for three with two RBIs and two runs scored. Meade added a double and two RBIs. Keygan Pelfrey, Preece and Davis each added hits for the Golden Eagles.
LeMaster also picked up the win on the mound. He gave up two runs on four hits, while striking out eight and walking two in five innings of work.
Johnson Central 12,
Johnson Central’s bats didn’t cool down against Wheelersburg.
Preece led the way at the plate going three for three with three doubles for the Golden Eagles. Rice also went three for three with an RBI and a run scored. Davis went two for two with a double and two RBIs. Meade went two for four with a double and an RBI. Delong went two for four with a double and three RBIs. Sartin-Slone added a pair of hits, an RBI and scored two runs.
McCloud added a hit and drove in two runs. LeMaster also had a hit in the win.
Delong got the win on the mound. He gave up one run on one hit, while striking out nine and walking three. Andrew Music threw an inning of relief and gave up one run on one hit. Preece also there and inning of relief work.
Johnson Central (20-1) is scheduled to play crosstown rival Paintsville in back-to-back games Tuesday and Wednesday evening.
