If you are looking for something to do this weekend in and around Johnson County, look no further, as the City Between the Lakes baseball tournament will take place May 3rd and fourth at two locations.

Paintsville and Johnson Central will each host games with play getting started at 5:30 p.m. Friday evening at Charlie Adkins Field with Paintsville taking on Somerset, while Johnson Central will welcome Russell also at 5:30 p.m.

Friday’s  games will both be double-headers with the second games both kicking off at 8:00 p.m. The evening session will feature Paintsville taking on Russell and the Golden Eagles taking on the Pikeville Panthers.

Saturday’s games will get started at 11:00 a.m.

Johnson Central will open the second day of the tournament by squaring off with Somerset. Paintsville will play Pikeville at noon.

The Golden Eagles and Tigers both have numerous players in lead leading categories in the state at present. This is a historic tournament going on for many years.

Having played in it myself in 1997, I can attest to the level of play and high caliber teams that participate in the City Between the Lakes.
