Dola Music

1933-2019

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 25, 12 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Dola Music, 86, of Boonscamp, who died Wednesday, May 22 at Martin County Health Care Facility in Inez.

Dola was born May 21, 1933 in Johnson County, son of the late Dallas and Flora Perkey Music. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Annice Williams Music; and one brother, Delbert Music.

Surviving are one son, Jason (Amanda) Music of Louisa; one granddaughter, Brooklyn Music; niece, Sherri Delong; nephews, Billy Williams, Kenny Williams and Dennis Music.

Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville.

Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Loyal Tackett

1945-2019

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 28, 1 p.m. at the Sitka Free Will Baptist Church, for Loyal Edward “Jimmy Dean” Tackett, 74, of East Point, who died Thursday, May 23 at his residence.

Mr. Tackett was born May 4, 1945 in Johnson County, son of the late Ed and Della Mae Marshall Tackett. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Laneata Trent; and one brother, Gary Tackett.

Surviving are his wife, Rita Hatfield Tackett; four sons, Eugene (Beverly) Tackett of Blaine, Aaron (Melissa) Tackett and David Gene Tackett, both of East Point, and Ricky Dean (Christy) Tackett of Sitka; one daughter, Paula (Roy) Kiskaden of Mt. Sterling; three sisters, Myrtle Yates of Pierceton, Ind., Juanita (Carl) Blair of Leander, and Wilma (Randall) Honeycutt of Sitka; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

The service was officiated by Jim McKenzie and Hobert Meek, with burial in the Tackett Family Cemetery.

Elmer Wells

1929-2019

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 28, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Elmer Gorden Wells, 90, of Meally, who died Saturday, May 25 at Mountain Manor of Paintsville.

Burial was in the Wells Cemetery at Meally.
