Sharon Adkins

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 13, 1 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Sharon Adkins, 60, of Wittensville, who died Monday, Sept. 9 at her residence.

Sharon was born July 7, 1959 in Johnson County, the daughter of the late Samuel and Magaline Meade Adkins.

Surviving are one son, Billy Jack (Tina) Tackett of Wittensville; one granddaughter, Maggie Marie Tackett of Wittensville; three brothers, Gary Meade of Oil Springs, Rod (JoAnn) Adkins of Hagerhill, Milton (Joyce) Adkins of Wittensville; two sisters, Lenalou (James) Conley of Lowmansville, and Merzie Conley of Wittensville.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 11, 5-10 p.m. and Thursday, 4-10 p.m. and prior to services on Friday.

Burial will be in the Adkins Family Cemetery at Wittensville.

Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Carl Richard Hitchcock, 73, of Louisa, formerly of Johnson County, who died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019 at Pikeville Medical Center.

Mr. Hitchcock was born July 4, 1946, son of the late Carl and Anna Jewell Crace Hitchcock. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ron Hitchcock and Tim Hitchcock.

Surviving are two sons, Jamie (Christy) Hitchcock of Winchester and Tony Hitchcock of Jenkins; the mother of his children, Louella Hitchcock; two grandchildren, Cheyenne Hitchcock Green and Casey Hitchcock; two great-grandchildren, Chloe pack and Greyson Green; three brothers, David Hitchcock of River, Ballard Hitchcock of Paintsville, and John Daniel Hitchcock of Staffordsville; and two sisters, Joanna Holbrook of Van Lear, and Diane Fannin of Oil Springs.

Military services were held by Chapter 18 D.A.V. of Auxier.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 13, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Adaline “Addie” Webb Stambaugh, 84, of East Point, who died Tuesday, Sept. 10 at her residence.

Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville.

Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.
