Raymond Blair

1928-2019

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 23, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Raymond Blair, 90, of Lower Twin Branch, died Tuesday, March 19 at his residence.

Mr. Blair was born May 19, 1928 in Johnson County, son of the late Albert and Flora Ratliff Blair. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Blair and Wayne Blair; and two sisters, Dorothy Blair and Lizzie Young.

 Surviving are his wife, Martha May Blair; and one daughter, Patsy Elizabeth Blair of Hagerhill.

The service will be officiated by Ruford Blair, Jerry Colvin, and Doug Ward, with burial to follow in the Blair Family Cemetery at Lower Twin Branch.

Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Lowell Hill

1931-2019

Lowell Hill age 88 of Oil Springs, Ky passed away on March 20, 2019 at Pikeville Medical Center. Lowell was born on January 12, 1931 in Morgan County to Glen and Esta Williams Hill. Lowell proudly served in the United States Army and held the rank of Private. He joined the Army in October 29, 1951 where he served over-seas in Germany with 6th INF REGT. While he was overseas Lowell was awarded Occupation Medal (Germany) National Defense Service medal. After serving 2 years in the service Lowell was discharged on October 14, 1953. 

After returning home from the Army he soon would meet the love of his life. Lowell and Belvenell met each other at the Red Bush Church and soon started dating for almost 5 years. Then on January 26, 1957 they become husband and wife and spent 62 very wonderful years together. Lowell worked for Chrysler Motor Company for many of years. He was a mechanic and retired from them on March 31, 1990. But his most proud achievement was leaving a testimony for the Lord when he was saved at Mountain Manor while staying there for rehabilitation.

Lowell is preceded in death by both of his parents, Glen and Esta Williams Hill, both of Morgan County; one son, Frankie Hill of Oil Springs; two brothers, James Allen Hill and Elwood Hill, both of Morgan County.

He is survived by his loving wife, Belvenell Stapleton  Hill of Oil Springs; along with a host of nieces and nephews and a community of neighbors and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 23, 2019 in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel starting at 1 p.m. with Tim Salyers officiating. There will be a visitation from 9 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. Burial will follow at Paint Valley Memorial Garden in Relief, Ky.   

Arrangements are under the directions of the Paintsville Funeral Home.

Patricia Johnson

1952-2019

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019, 1 p.m. at the Meally Church of Christ for Patricia Ann Music Johnson, 68, of Meally, who died Wednesday, March 20 at her residence.

She was born Feb. 4, 1952 in Paintsville, daughter of the late Jake Music Jr. and Neva Baldridge Music. She was a retired secretary with the Johnson County School system.

Surviving are her husband, Don Johnson of Meally; one daughter, Dawn Stambaugh of Meally; and one sister, Teresa Sue Music Butcher of Meally

The service will be officiated by Wayne Short, with burial in the Fannin Family Cemetery at Chestnut.

Arrangements under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home of Salyersville.
