Funeral services were held Friday, August 9, 2 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Marion “Peahonie” Hondel Allen, 88, of Paintsville, died Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Mountain Manor of Paintsville.

Peahonie was born March 2, 1931 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Marion Ellis and Erie Blair Hondel.

She is the widow of Delmere Allen and is survived by Nikki Barber of Nippa; and several other extended family members.

The service was officiated by Dan Heaberlin, with burial in the Lower Mayo Cemetery in Paintsville.

Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Denzil “Shorty” Fairchild, 71, of Oil Springs, who died Tuesday, August 6 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Mr. Fairchild was born June 5m 1948 in Paintsville, son of the late Eugene and Erie Blanton Fairchild. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Gale, Harold, Gene Elwood, Eual, and Delmar Fairchild; three sisters, Carol Estil Shew, Virginia Craft, and Jewel Salyers.

Surviving are two brothers, James Fairchild and Gary (Nannie) Fairchild, both of Oil Springs; three sisters, Donna Morgan of Elizabethtown, Loretta (Allen) Holden of Shepherdsville, and Diane (Norman) Blanton of Oil Springs; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Burial will be in the Blanton-Fairchild Cemetery at Oil Springs.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 1, 12 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Gary Alan Stapleton, 68, of Tutor Key, who died Saturday, July 27 at his residence.

Mr. Stapleton was born April 15, 1951 in Johnson County, son of the late James Earl and Irene Salyer Stapleton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Wells Stapleton. He retired from Elm Street Resources and was vice-president of coal procurement.

Surviving are one daughter, Jennifer Gail Stapleton of Tutor Key; one sister, Karen Gail (Johnny) Music of Martha; a special brother-in-law, Charles (Rita) Wells of Peru, Ind.; two nephews, Stephen Music and Ray Wells; and five nieces, Kimberly Simpson, Tammy Wright, Terry Proffit, Sherry Wells and April Arrowood.

The service was officiated by Roger Hill, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville.
