Lexie Ross Bailey, age 98, of Flat Gap, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center.  She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Jean Minckley (William) of Virgie and Carol Lee Bailey of Raccoon; three grandchildren and one great grandson.

Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2019, in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Danny Ward and Jeff Blanton officiating. Burial followed at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sugar Grove Baptist church by contacting Jones-Preston Funeral Home at 606-789-3501.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Sam Franklin Conley, 75, of Sitka, who died Wednesday, August 21 at his residence.

Sam was born Jan. 14, 1944 in Johnson County, son of the late Hollie and June Mae Tackett Conley.

He is survived by four sons, Donald Franklin Conley of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Larry Douglas Conley and Daniel Robert Conley, both of Sitka, and Rodney Duane Conley of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, James Morris Conley of Lowmansville; four sisters, Delilah Vestine Castle, Rebecca Jane McKenzie, both of Nippa, Barbara Sue Long of Meally, and Dora Alice Trimble of Oil Springs; and 10 grandchildren.

The service will be officiated by Jim Price, with burial to follow in the Conley Cemetery at Staffordsville.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 20, 10 a.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Martha Kimbleton, 90, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Staffordsville, who died Saturday, Aug. 17 in Columbus.

Martha was born Aug. 25, 1928, daughter of the late Buell and Allie Pennington Lemaster. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Corvin Kimbleton; one son, Thomas Kimbleton; one daughter, Dora Lewis; four brothers, Willis, Kenneth, Ellis and Clyde Lemaster; one sister, Lenie Fowler; and one granddaughter, Susan Finley.

Surviving are two son, Jim and Charles Kimbleton; one daughter, Susie Salyers; two brothers, Darrell and Wallace Lemaster; two sisters, Katherine Cantrell and Roxie Blevins; nine grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.

The service was officiated by Paul Castle, with burial in the Kimbleton Family Cemetery at Staffordsville.

Thomas Murray

Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 22, 11 a.m. for Thomas Martin Murray, 86, of East Point, who died Monday, Aug. 19, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.

Mr. Murray was born Feb. 24, 1933 in Johnson County, son of the late Elbert Murray and Oma Salyer Murray. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Murray and Clarence Murray; four sisters, Nevalena Guisto, Maxine Ripley, Iren Slone and Hermalee Ross.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Thelma Blair Murray; one son, Kenneth (Madonna) Murray of Langley; one daughter, Karen (David) Lewis of Hagerhill; two grandsons, Jared (Kellye) Murray of Paintsville, and Michael Murray of Allen; one step-grandson, Jonathan Lewis of Pataskala, Ohio; one granddaughter, Tori (Jeremy) Fannin of Staffordsville; two great-granddaughters, Lucy Fannin and Lily Fannin, both of Staffordsville; one step-great grandson, Tyler Lewis; and one step-great granddaughter, Abigail Lewis.

Thomas was a Christian, loving husband, father and papaw. He was an active member of his church, Whitaker Free Will Baptist Church. Known by many, loved by all. Thomas always has kind words for those around him.

He served in the United Stated Army during the Korean Ward, where he was awarded the Korean Medal of Honor.

The service was officiated by Hubert Slone and Ronnie Spriggs, with burial in the Salyers Cemetery at Flat Gap.

Military services were conducted by the Big Sandy Chapter 18 DAV.

Dreama Williamson

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, 1 p.m. for Dreama Williamson, 55, of Van Lear, who died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.

Dreama was born Nov. 9, 1963 in Fort Lee, Va., daughter of Franklin C. Hager and Judy Hall Hager of Van Lear.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by one son, Austin Williamson of Van Lear; one brother, Edward Hager of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Deborah (Timothy) DeLong of Frankfort, Brenda Andrix  and Darlene Start, both of Columbus, Ohio.

The service will be officiated by B. Joe Hill, with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville.
