Brenda Kay Porter Adams, 64, formerly of Johnson County, died Sunday, August 23, 2020 in Middlesboro. 

Brenda was born August 20, 1956 in Johnson County.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, August 27, 2020 in the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Karen Gene (Whittaker) Bratcher, 65 of Van Lear died Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Highlands ARH in Prestonsburg. She was born August 17, 1955 in Niles, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Gene Whittaker and Arlene Miller Whittaker. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Gene Raymond Whittaker.

Mrs. Bratcher is survived by her husband, Gerald Bratcher of Van Lear; her aunts, Lila Lewis of Las Vegas, Nevada and Lois Penrod of Clarksville, Tennessee. Numerous beloved cousins also survive.

Karen was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School. In her professional career she worked in hospital administration and also served proudly as church secretary.

A private graveside service was held Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Riverview Memorial Gardens in Louisa. Father Brandon Bigham officiated. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home. The guestbook may be signed at, www.phelps-sonfuneralhome.com.

Julian Greene, 76, of East Point Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Highlands ARH in Prestonsburg.

He was born September 12, 1943 in Floyd County He was the son of the late James Greene and Alta (Dotson) Greene. In addition to his parents, Julian is preceded in death by one son, Daniel Greene;  one brother, Burl Greene; and two sisters, Pat Sampson and Juanita Meadows.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Conn) Greene; one son, Mark Greene and his wife Melanie of East Point; one daughter, Michelle Frisby and her husband Brad of Oil Springs; two step sons, Scotty and Stacey Tackett both of Floyd County; several siblings, James Earl Greene, Wanda Hamilton, Gerald Greene, Tom Greene, Phyllis Hackworth, Floyd Greene, Harold Greene and Regina Fry; six grandchildren, Katie Greene, Sarah Greene, Rachel Greene and Jake Greene, Noah Frisby and Macy Frisby; and two step grandchildren, Dewayne Tackett and Kristen Tackett.

There was a private graveside service Friday, September 4, 2020 at the Family Cemetery, East Point. Richard Greene officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home. The guest book may be signed at, www.phelps-sonfuneralhome.com.
