Larry David Collins, 44, of Oil Springs, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center.  

Larry was born November 28, 1975 in Pike County, son of Anna Rose Click Collins of Oil Springs, and the late Larry Grant Collins.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cindy Meek Collins; one daughter, Annie Collins of Oil Springs: an adopted son, Zach Salyer of Oil Springs, and one brother-in-law, Jonathan Baretto of Simpsonville, South Carolina.

In compliance with health and safety directives, the funeral arrangements for Larry David Collins was a Private Graveside services conducted at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville.

Elaine Ferguson, 69, of Van Lear passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at her residence. Born November 3, 1950 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of the late Guar Ferguson and Gladys (Fyffe) Ferguson. In addition to her parents, Elaine is preceded in death by one son, Don McCarty; five brothers: Bob, Don, Clete, Hansford “Hampy”, and Jaimie Ferguson; and two sisters, Priscilla Ferguson and Rosemary Ferguson. She is survived two sons, Roger McCarty II of Paintsville and Dwayne Blevins of Columbus, Ohio; five daughters: Lovelle McCarty of Paintsville, Tonya Blevins of Zanesville, Ohio, Gina Blevins of Van Lear, Brandy Ritchie of Salyersville, and Liz Jenkins of Paintsville; three brothers: Ralph Ferguson, Andy Ferguson and Algar Ferguson; two sisters, Lovell Greenwood and Nina Blythe; twenty-seven grandchildren, and several great grandchildren also survive. A private graveside service for the immediate family was held Thursday, April 30, 2020 at the Ferguson Family Cemetery at Martha.

Jeremy Tyler Jude Jr., 4 month old, infant son of Keshia Gillispie and Jamie Maynard of Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.

Jeremy was born December 17, 2019 in Prestonsburg. He is preceded in death by one cousin, Loyd William Gillispie Jr. In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters: Kailey Jude and Kara Jude; two brothers: Jamie Maynard and Axle Maynard; grandparents: Loyd and Mary Gillispie, Chad and Penny Maynard, James and Jeri Maynard, Lacy and Maria Jude; great grandparents: George and Sue McGinnis, Wanda and Jack Sartin, Jeffrey and Diane Maynard, and Maudie Mae Spence; uncles: Loyd William Gillispie and wife, Rhiannon, Lacy Lee Jude, and Matt Litton and wife, Mary; aunts: Rosemary Fuggett, Whitney Maynard, Elaine Stepp, and Keyera Maynard. Numerous cousins, great aunts, great uncles, and other family members also survive. A private graveside service for the immediate family was held Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at the Family Cemetery at Tomahawk, Kentucky. Brother Joe Hill officiated. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

Dorothy Lee Ward Sturgill Limburg, 93, of West Orange, New Jersey, passed away on Monday April 27, 2020 following a short illness. A native of River, Dorothy was born on February 27, 1927 to the late Virgil Ward and Lula Van Hoose Ward of River. Following her graduation from Meade Memorial High School she married the late Dr. Edgar Gordon Sturgill of Harold, in 1948 and was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker until his death on May 4, 1975. She met and married the late Samuel Limburg of New Paris, Ohio and they spent 9 wonderful years together until his death on January 14, 1994. Dorothy is survived by her loving son Dr. Marcus Gordon Sturgill of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, her stepdaughter Tina Stuart of New Paris, Ohio, two stepsons, Doug Limburg of Richmond, Indiana and Kenny Limburg of Potts Camp, Mississippi, and her sister Alice Smith Ritchie of Brandenburg. A private entombment will take place at Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel. Preston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She was born May 10, 1948 in Johnson County, she is the daughter of the late McConnell May and Mary Sue Preston May. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Russell Salyer and one son, Michael “Caveman” Salyer, one brother, Paul David May. She is survived by one son, Jonathan Salyer and (T. J. Alsept) of Paintsville; two daughters, Robin Salyer (Brandy VanHoose) of Paintsville, Michele VanHoose (Chris) of Winchester; one daughter-in-law, Tracey (Tony) Hatfield of Oil Springs,; one brother, John May (Kutrina) of Louisa; three sisters, Janet Ward of Flat Gap, Linda Jean Styers of Columbus, Ohio, Connie Preece of Hager Hill; one sister in law, Linda and Eugene Crigger of Tutor Key, also ten grandchildren, Tristen Salyer, Lauryn Salyer, Mayleigh VanHoose, Ryleigh VanHoose, Haleigh Hatfield, Sara Hensley, Skyler Perkins, Mia Salyer, Ella Salyer and Lynley Salyer.

A private funeral service will be conducted Saturday, May 9, 2020 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the McCarty Cemetery, Kentucky Route 580, Oil Springs.
