Elsie Sue Clark Adams, 74, of Wittensville, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, at Highland ARH in Prestonsburg.

She was born Sept. 26, 1947, in Johnson County. She was the daughter of the late Richard Hayden and Trinity Jane Staniford Hayden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estill Clark (1983); five brothers, Sam Hayden, Ed Hayden, Asie Hayden, Shird Hayden and Grant Hayden; and four sisters, Willa Mae Jennings, Marie Young, Martha Ramey and Mary Bowens.

She is survived by four sons, Danny Ray Clark and Robert McKinnley Clark, both of Wittensville, Estill Eugene Clark, of Hager Hill, and Eric Roger Clark, of West Van Lear; four daughters, Della Marie Wilson and Donna Sue Sherman, both of Hager Hill, Brenda Bailey, of Nippa, and Savetta Lynn Conley, of West Van Lear; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, at the Van Lear Enterprise Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Clark Family Cemetery, Van Lear, with Roger Hill officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Martha Blair

Martha Elizabeth Blair, 91, of Hager Hill, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 23, 1930, in Johnson County. She was the daughter of the late T.H. May and Rhuie Williams May.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Blair; two brothers, Henry May and Hager May; and four sisters, Berita May, Almeda Blair, Barbara Ratliff and Peggy Baldwin.

She is survived by one daughter, Patsy E. Blair (Phillip), of Hager Hill; one brother, Gene May, of Hager Hill; two sisters, Rosie Blevins, of Paintsville, and Carolyn Blair, of Oil Springs; many nieces and nephews; and special caretakers, Tina, Neva, Louise, Jennifer, Sue, Mary Ann, Stephanie and Faye.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Blair Family Cemetery, Hager Hill. Rutherford Blair will officiate.

Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, all day Wednesday and until the time of service on Thursday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.

Carolyn Lee "Carol" Colvin Meadows, 72, of Barnetts Creek Road, Staffordsville, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at Highlands ARH, Prestonsburg.

Carol was born Aug. 13, 1949, in Johnson County, to the late Leokrie "Leo" and Ivalu Horne Colvin.   

Carol is survived by her husband, Michael Leon Meadows; two sons, Michael Todd Meadows (Melissa), of Staffordsville, and Matthew Shawn Meadows (Robin), of Staffordsville; one daughter, Monica Carol Daniel (Rick), of Staffordsville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tim and Kathy Meadows, of Wittensville; five grandchildren, Kealy Richelle Coleman (Jacob), Bailey Brooke Taylor (Brady), Macy Carol Daniel (Tate Cantrell), Dylan Michael Meadows and Jordan Alexandra Meadows; one great-grandchild, Brooks Allen Taylor; two nieces, Laura Cook (Charles), of Cookeville, Tenn., and Leslie Judkins (James), of Colquitt, Ga.; several great-nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, at Tom's Creek Free Will Baptist Church with James Kelly Caudill, Chuck Slone and Jeremy Estep officiating. Burial followed at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Delphia Marie Page, 72, of Flat Gap, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, at the Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.

She was born March 6, 1949, in Johnson County, to the late Mance Montgomery and Ellie Dale Montgomery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Page; one son, David Cook; one grandson, Matthew Cook; and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her special companion, Danny Wells, of Flat Gap; two sons, Timothy Page (Sabrina), of Van Lear, and James Page (Amanda), of Fort Gay, W.Va.; two daughters, Regina Williams, of Flat Gap, and Lorene Music, of Salyersville; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Linda is survived by one son, Austin Honeycutt, of Louisville; a special cousin, Martha Ratliff Auxier, of Prestonsburg; and several other cousins.
