A Johnson County man is facing a felony assault charge after an alleged domestic violence incident.
Josh Caudill, 26, of Honey Lane, Stambaugh, was arrested by Kentucky State Police troopers after Trooper J. Weddington responded to a call from Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center of a woman in the emergency room with extensive injuries, according to court documents.
According to the citation, Caudill and the victm had been dating for “a few days” before they got into an argument which turned physical, leading to the woman suffering several injuries including broken ribs, a “buckled” sternum and a “blowout fracture” to her right orbital, the bone around the eye socket.
Hospital staff advised Weddington the woman would be transferred to Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, due to the severity of her injuries, the citation said.
Weddington located Caudill after leaving the emergency room, and Caudill stated that the woman had tried “to stab him with a knife,” but Weddington said there was no evidence for that statement, according to the citation.
Caudill was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on charges of second-degree assault and violating an EPO/DVO.
