One of U.S. 23’s businesses has received a major facelift, transforming the former gas station and convenience store into so much more.
Speedy’s Grab ‘n Go, located at 985 N U.S. 23 less than five miles from Paintsville, will be opening a restaurant within its walls on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
The restaurant will feature a variety of menu items for breakfast, lunch and dinner, boasting cheaper-than-fast-food prices, according to co-owner Maulikkumar Patel.
“In our area, we don’t see people try to emphasize value,” Patel said. “With us, you can take a look at our menu and anything from the breakfast platter to whatever my price on my sandwiches are, it’s geared toward people having the best variety — you don’t have to run to five different places, but you also don’t have to break the bank.

“Everybody has got to eat,” he said. “Why do they have to break the bank? A lot of franchises in town end up paying a franchise fee. That’s what we save on. We are literally the most convenient location for everyone in the countryside and right outside of town.”
Speedy’s Grab ‘n Go will be open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
