Several individuals in Johnson County were charged with selling alcohol to an underage investigative aide with Kentucky Alcoholic Beverage Control agents, according to court documents.

Businesses in which the transactions occurred, the citations said, included America’s Quick Mart on Euclid Avenue, JB’s Sports Lounge at the Ramada Inn and Paintsville Smart Stop Valero off of Ky. 460/Ky. 40.

According to the citations, ABC Agents N. Caudill and Billy J. Caudill entered the premises of the businesses alongside a 19-year-old investigative aide, while the aide attempted to purchase alcohol, and was successful at those locations.

Maggie Salyers, 41, of Thealka, Mayur Patel, 39, of Paintsville, Dineshkumar Patel, 47, and Taylor Droz, 20, of Boons Camp, according to the citation, all sold alcohol to the aide without asking for identification or or the aide’s date of birth.

Salyers, Mayur Patel, Dineshkumar Patel and Droz all face a single charge of first-offense selling an alcoholic beverage to a minor.

While this is not an offense in which one charged would be arrested, all of those charged are set to be arraigned Oct. 28. If convicted, those charged could face a fine of up to $100 for the first offense.
