The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is looking for individuals who would be interested in volunteering at Paintsville Lake this year.

The Corps is seeking on-site volunteers, who would be available from May through September, to help with the care taking of park amenities throughout the upcoming recreational season.

Any individual interested in volunteering at Paintsville must be able to work 25 hours a week and be able to provide their own camper. However, volunteers will be provided a campsite that offers electric, water and sewer hookup in exchange for their services.

Volunteers will assist with mowing, weeding, litter removal, painting and other small projects. Tools and equipment needed will be provided.

Individuals interested in volunteering are also sought at Dewey Lake in Floyd County and Fishtrap Lake in Pike County.

For more information, call, (800) 865-8337. To apply online, search for “Kentucky” at volunteer.gov.
