Paintsville welcomed September with the first-ever Market 606 Saturday evening, with downtown stores open late and vendors lining the sides of Main Street.
Paintsville Tourism Executive Director Josh Johnson said the Market 606 enterprise is a collaboration between the downtown businesses, tourism and other agencies that partnered together to make this night market happen.
“We had 300 to 400 people come out,” Johnson said. “Sort of like a mini-Apple Day. Everybody really enjoyed it.”
The event also featured food, live music, an outdoor movie screening and rides for kids on the tourism commission’s train.
Johnson said that plans are tentatively in the works to host another such market closer to Christmas.
