The Mountain Homeplace in Staffordsville is set to kick off their first ever Candyland Christmas event this Friday, Dec. 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will offer family fun in celebration of the holiday season and will include the opportunity to take pictures with Santa, write letters to Santa, caroling, ornament making, train rides and more. A tree lighting ceremony will also take place during Friday’s opening night of the occasion.
Josh Johnson, executive director of Paintsville Tourism, said the event has been successful after opening for local schools last week.
“We have worked hard to make sure it is kid-friendly and to make sure we have fun things for them to do,” Johnson said. “We will also have vendors on-site for Christmas shopping.”
Candyland Christmas will also take place Saturday, Dec. 14 and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Dec. 20 and Dec. 21.
