Johnson County students take part  in classic Apple Festival competitions

Students took part in a myriad of contests Friday, including the “Ole Fashioned Adding Match,” with students competing to see who can add up numbers the fastest.

The Kentucky Apple Festival kicked off in earnest on Friday with several student contests on stage outside the Johnson County Courthouse.

Winners were announced for contests judged prior, including the art contest across all age groups and the penmanship contest.

Students also took part in live contests, including the “Ole Fashioned Adding Match” and the “Ole Fashioned Spelling Bee.”
