Johnson County  officials sworn in

Johnson Circuit Judge John David Preston stands among dozens of county officials to give their oaths of office at a swearing-in ceremony in Paintsville on Friday.

County officials were sworn in together at a special ceremony held in the Johnson County Fiscal Courtroom on Friday.

Johnson Circuit Judge John David Preston gave the oath of office to all county officials. A separate oath was administered for circuit and deputy clerks, as well as a separate oath for the sheriff and sheriff’s deputies.

Incoming Judge-Executive Mark McKenzie said he was excited to see a room full of people eager to go to work to better Johnson County.

“It’s obviously a different future,” McKenzie said. “New faces and fresh ideas.”
