The Johnson County grand jury indicted 50 people last week in 51 separate cases, several of which were linked to allegations of promoting contraband in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

Jason Hale, 39, of Louisa was indicted on charges of promoting contraband in the first degree, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree) and being a persistent felony offender in the first degree after allegedly being found in possession of methamphetamine in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on December 12, 2019.

David M. Tackett, 32, of Left Fork Hammond Road, Whitehouse, was also indicted on charges of promoting contraband in the first degree and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree) after allegedly being found with the substance in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in January of this year.

Similarly, Regina D. Cline, 44, of Louisa, was indicted on charges of promoting contraband in the first degree, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree) and possession of drug paraphernalia after allegedly being found in possession of the substance and a miniature scale in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on January 15.

Kathleen Howard, 40, of Salyersville was also indicted on charges of promoting contraband in the first degree and possession of a controlled substance in the first degree after a February 20 incident during which she was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

Others indicted last week include:

Caleb Z. Rowland, 23, of Fox Hunters Ridge, Flat Gap, on charges of theft by unlawful taking of over $10,000 and public intoxication related to an incident in September of 2019 in which he  allegedly unlawfully possessed a Polaris ATV.

Brandon M. Castle, 35, of Buffalo Road, Meally, on charges of first degree trafficking of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first offense), operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/ drugs (aggravating circumstances, first offense), reckless driving and disregarding a stop sign during an incident in March.

Jonathan Endicott 32, of North River Street, Auxier, on charges of disarming a peace officer, assault in the fourth degree (minor injury), theft by unlawful taking under $500 (shoplifting), resisting arrest and disorderly conduct related to a May 6 incident in which he allegedly assaulted a Walmart employee after shoplifting approximately $200 worth of items. According to court documents, Endicott then knowingly and unlawfully disarmed a Paintsville Police Department Officer and resisted arrest, engaging in “fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior.”  

Rachel Smith, 28, of Madison Avenue, Paintsville, on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree) and possession/ use of drug paraphernalia related to a Feb. 19 incident.

Larry Dalton Bartley, 26, of Main Street, Paintsville on charges of fleeing/ evading police (first degree), receiving stolen property over $10,000 (automobile) and persistent felony offender (first degree) related to a May 14 incident.

Charles Hammond, 42, of Boyd Street, Paintsville, on charges of Possession of a controlled substance (first degree), possession/ use of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed deadly weapon

Carl Jones, 43, of Mill Branch Road, Paintsville, on charges of assault in the first degree, possession of a controlled substance (second degree) and possession of marijuana related to a March 11 incident in which he allegedly shot at Michael Grim with a .22 caliber handgun.

Stephanie E. Kelly, 50, of Mount Sterling, on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and public intoxication.

Anthony Jones, 39, of Depot Road, Paintsville, on a charge of trafficking in the first degree after allegedly being found in possession of 9.6 grams of methamphetamine, $222 cash and numerous plastic baggies on March 2 of last year.

Heather Ramsey, 23, of Pikeville on a charge of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Randy Burke, 49, of Puncheon Creek, Sitka, on a charge of wanton endangerment in the first degree related to a Jan. 6 incident.

Jennifer Burke, 39, of Puncheon Creek, Sitka, on a charge of wanton endangerment in the first degree related to a Jan. 6 incident.

Tammy S. Johnson, 43, of Dingus on a charge of assault in the third degree related to a Feb. 10 incident in which she allegedly assaulted a Big Sandy Regional Detention Center offcier.

Jonathan Owens, 36, of Hiram Reed Road, Boonscamp, on a charge of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree) during an incident in March of last year.

Melessa Robinson, 33, of Richmond, on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance (Alprazolam, 3rd degree) during a Jan. 1 incident.

Jesse J. Rivas, 38, of Kingwood, Texas, on a charge of kidnapping a minor during an April 26 incident. According to court documents, Rivas, “knowingly and unlawfully restrained another person with intent to accomplish or advance the commission of a felony, namely rape.”

Adam Vanhoose, 32, of Little Mud Lick Road, Staffordsville, on a charge of receiving stolen property under $10,000 from a March 31 incident when he allegedly was found in possession of rims and tires stolen from AutoBrokers of Paintsville.

Charlotte Ward, 44, of Spurlock Drive, Tutor Key, on a charge of burglary in the second degree/ complicity.

Leonard Blair, 29, of Prestonsburg on charges of theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 and persistent felony offender in the first degree related to the Jan. 4 theft of a travel camper valued at $15,000.

Danny W. Young, 34, of Hager Hill, on charges of trafficking (methamphetamine, first degree) and persistent felony offender (first degree).

Cansas Davis, 28, of Tomahawk on a charge of trafficking  a controlled substance/ complicity (methamphetamine, first degree) during January.

Adam D. Rohr, 30, of Buttermilk Branch, Meally, on a charge of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree/ complicity (methamphetamine).

Jason Owens, 38, of Paintsville on charges of theft by unlawful taking over $500 and persistent felony offender (first degree) from an incident occurring in December of 2019.

Danny W. Young, 33, of Hager Hill, on a charge of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree).

Lenzie M. Blanton, 62, of Oil Springs, on charges of wanton endangerment (first degree), assault in the fourth degree (domestic violence), terroristic threatening in the third degree and criminal mischief in the first degree related to a Feb. 25 incident.

Denzil Howell, 43, of Prestonsburg on a charge of strangulation after a May 4 incident.

Michael Vanzandt, 31, of Paintsville on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree).

Matthew S. Goble, 41, of Flat Gap, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree).

Shawn M. Easley, 29, of Sitka on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance (first degree, methamphetamine), operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/ drugs, operating on a suspended or revoked operators license, no/expired registration plates, rear license not illuminated and no/ expired registration receipt.

Dustin Patton, 34, of Mill Street, Paintsville, on a charge of receiving stolen property under $10,000 after allegedly being found in possession of stolen items/instruments belonging to Paintsville Independent Schools on January 14.

Anthony Hall, 32, of Scurlock Drive, Tutor Key, on charges of burglary in the second degree/ complicity and persistent felony offender in the first degree after a January 28 incident. Hall was also indicted on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree), possession of a controlled substance (gabapentin, third degree), resisting arrest, fleeing/evading police in the second degree, possession of marijuana, public intoxication and giving a peace officer false identifying information during a February 1 incident.

Jeffery W. Osborne, 39, of River, on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree), operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/ drugs, failure to maintain required insurance and improper registration plates.

Gary E. Richmond, 36, of Flat Gap on a charge of possession or viewing of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor after a May 30 incident. According to court documents, Richmond was found in possession of numerous electronic files depicting minor children engaging in sexual performances.

Melissa Wagoner, 44, of Sitka, on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree) and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident last November.

Joshua Caudill, 27, of Honey Lane, Stambaugh, on charges of strangulation, assault in the first degree and receiving stolen property under $10,000.

Bobby Hernandez, 49, of Renwick, Iowa on charges of trafficking in the first degree (methamphetamine) after an incident in June of last year.

Ciarra Davis, 26, of Keaton, on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree) and possession/ use of drug paraphernalia.

James Derek Fields, of Sitka, on a charge of intent to defraud/scheme/ artifice to obtain benefits that resulted in the overpayment of over $109,176 last year.

Misty Fields, 46, of Sitka on a charge of intent to defraud/scheme/ artifice to obtain benefits that resulted in the overpayment of over $109,176 last year.

Eric Z. Reynolds, 33, of David on charges of strangulation in the first degree and assault in the fourth degree.

Chad Deer, 33, of Mill Branch Road, Paintsville, on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/ drugs, driving on DUI suspended license (third offense) and tampering with physical evidence.

Remona Mills, 48, of Boyd Branch, Paintsville on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree), theft by unlawful taking under $500 (shoplifting), resisting arrest and disorderly conduct in the second degree.

Anthony Jones, 38, of Depot Road, Paintsville, on a charge of trafficking (first degree, methamphetamine.)

John E. Baldridge, 44, of Salyersville on charges of burglary in the third degree, theft by unlawful taking under $500, fleeing/ evading on foot and resisting arrest during an incident in February.

Genger Blair, 35, of Salyersville on charges of receiving stolen property (firearm), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first degree), possession a controlled substance (Suboxone, third degree) and possession/ use of drug paraphernalia/ complicity after an incident on March 4.

Brian Perkins, 37, of Salyersville, on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled susb stance (methamphetamine, first degree), possession a controlled substance (Suboxone, third degree) and possession/ use of drug paraphernalia/ complicity after an incident on March 4.
