A Hagerhill woman was arrested last Friday after, court documents said, she crashed her vehicle into a parked vehicle on Ky. 172.

According to the citation, Randi Ritz, 41, of Hagerhill, was driving on Ky. 172 when her vehicle struck a parked car, causing the second vehicle to spin into a utility pole, breaking the pole in half.

The citation said Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies Jeff Castle and Jesse Mullins responded to the scene of the crash and Castle administered several field sobriety tests, none of which Ritz was able to successfully complete. Ritz reported told Castle that she had taken suboxone just before driving the vehicle that day.

Ritz was taken into custody and transported to the Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, where she refused a blood test before being lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

Ritz was charged with first-offense aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. Ritz was released from the jail the same day.
