Among the indictments handed down on Feb. 15 by a Johnson County grand jury were charges included criminal abuse of a child less than 12 years of age, third-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse, according to court records.

According to the indictments, Dalton Adams, 24, and Trinity Kretzer, 21, both of Boardwalk Street, Paintsville  were indicted in complicity with one another on charges of first-degree criminal abuse with a victim less than 12 years old, a class B felony punishable by 10 to 20 years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000.

Although the indictment does not detail the situation, the crime is described as “intentionally and unlawfully abusing a minor … Thereby (causing) serious physical injury, (placing) him in a situation that may have caused serious physical injury and/or caused torture, cruel confinement or cruel punishment.”

Another indictment charged Danny Butcher, 51, of Spring Knob Road, Boons Camp, with first-degree sexual abuse, a class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000. The indictment does not include details of the case, but charges that Butcher committed the crime when he, “by being a person in a position of authority or special trust … Subjected a minor under the age of 18 to sexual contact.”

A third individual was indicted in a separate case on a third-degree rape charge, namely Madison Jenkins, 21, of Ponderosa Drive, Paintsville, who is alleged to have committed the offense by “knowingly and unlawfully engaging in sexual intercourse with another person … A minor under the age of 16.” Third-degree rape is a class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000.

Also indicted were:

Kenneth Holbrook, 47, of Holbrook Branch, Paintsville, was indicted on a charge of theft by deception with a value of more than $10,000, a class C felony punishable by five to 10 years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000. Holbrook is alleged to have “unlawfully obtained $50,858 from (a Paintsville woman) … By creating or reinforcing a false impression.”

Sarah Hensley, 27, of Fitch Branch, Inez, was indicted on charges of second-degree escape and theft by unlawful taking (value greater than $1,000 but less than $10,000), both class D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000. Hensley was charged in a separate indicted on a charge of first-degree bail jumping, a class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000.

Darin Conley, 36, of Ky. 1690, Louisa, was indicted on charges of second-degree escape and theft by unlawful taking with a value greater than $1,000, both class D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000. Conley was charged in the indicted as a second-degree persistent felony offender.

Melissa Wolford, 35, of Water Street, Louisa, was indicted on a charge of theft by unlawful taking with a value greater than $1,000, a class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000.

Cameron Mollett, 21, of Ky. 1559, Nippa, was indicted on a charge of receiving stolen property with a value greater than $1,000, a class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000.

William Hicks, 40, of M. Salyers Branch, Sitka, was indicted on charges of second-degree escape and theft by unlawful taking with a value greater than $1,000, both class D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000. Hicks was also indicted on two charges of first-degree bail jumping, a class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000.

Tony Endicott, 57, of Colby Lane, West Van Lear, was indicted on a charge of first-degree bail jumping, a class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000.

Brian Wilson, 29, of Ky. 2039, Hagerhill, was indicted on a charge of first-degree bail jumping, a class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000.

Donnie Bowen, 50, of Middle Fork Road, Hagerhill, was indicted on charges of second-degree escape and theft by unlawful taking with a value greater than $1,000, both class D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000.

Andrew Calloway, 35, of Woodland Court, Paintsville, was indicted on a charge of first-degree bail jumping, a class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000.

Shawn McGuire, 53, of Elk Creek Road, Salyersville, was indicted on charges of second-degree escape and theft by unlawful taking with a value greater than $1,000, both class D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000.

Stacy L. Prater, 45, of Silk Stocking Loop, Thealka, was indicted on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000, and second-offense DUI, a misdemeanor.
