Buzzing about bees at PHS

Paintsville High School seniors received an education on the importance of bees to agriculture, the environment and human survival Friday from Jason “The Bee Man” Conley, a local beekeeper, researcher and activist who owns seven farms in the area and operates many hives in Johnson County. Conley talked to the students about the dire situation facing bees, including the recent addition of bumble bees to the list of endangered species in the U.S. that are now protected, a worrying development in bee health and therefore the health of our planet, according to Conley.
