This week, 88-year-old Betty Garey, of Volga, called to submit for publication a poem about the changing of the seasons.

“To a Lost Snowflake”

By Betty Garey

Hi, little snowflake!

Where are you going?

Don’t you know

It’s time to start hoeing?

Winter’s the time

For you to drop by.

Couldn’t you leave

Your home in the sky?

Bye, little snowflake!

You’ve started me freezing!

Hurry and go

before I start sneezing.

Don’t cry, little snowflake!

Come visit again!

If not as a snowflake,

Then, maybe, as rain!
