Adron Burchett
1940-2010

Funeral services were held March 10 at 1 p.m. at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, for Adron Burchett, 69, of Ivel, who passed away March 7 at his residence.
He was born April 20, 1940 in Floyd County, son of the late John and Myrtle Cecil Burchett.
He was a retired truck driver.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Hansford Burchett.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette Collins Burchett; three sons, Adron (Lisa) Burchett, Buck (Lisa) Burchett and Leroy (Emma) Burchett, all of Ivel; one daughter, Suzie Burchett, Ivel; one sister, Inez Collins, Buffalo; a special companion, Tom; 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted by Mark Tackett, with burial in the Burchett Family Cemetery, Ivel.
Arrangements under the direction of Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.

Lillie McCarty
1936-2010

Funeral services will be held today, March 12 at 11 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Lillie McCarty, 73, of Oil Springs, who passed away March 8.
She was born June 20, 1936, in Morgan County, daughter of the late John Thurman and Betty Gambill Cox.
She was a member of the Fish Trap United Baptist Church since 1959.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Kaye McCarty, and one brother, Junior Cox.
She is survived by her husband, Arville McCarty; two daughters, Brenda Carol (Jim) Morgan, Lexington, and Teresa Gail (Anthony) Howard, Staffordsville; two brothers, Charles Cox, Flat Gap, and James Cox, Summersville, S.C.; two sisters, Glenda Sowers, Zanesville, Ohio, and Sue Miller, South Point, Ohio; four grandchildren, Melissa and Sarah Howard, and Ethan and Dana Morgan, and one great grandchild, Lydia Dae Howard.
Services will be conducted by Hershell Wright, with burial in the McCarty Cemetery, Oil Springs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Hospice, Paintsville office, 869 U.S. Hwy. 23 N., Paintsville, KY 41240, or by contacting the Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville, who is in charge of the arrangements.

Adam Dale Mills
1976-2010

Funeral services were held March 11 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home for Adam Dale Mills, 34, of Louisa, formerly of Inez, who passed away March 9, at his home.
He was born Jan. 5, 1976, in Merion, Ohio, son of Roger Mills, of Mann, W. Va. and Linda Moberly, of Columbus, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his wife, Tina Moore Mills, Columbus; two sons, Adam Dale Mills II and Aaron Jeffery Mills, both of Columbus; one brother, Jeffery Mills, Louisa; and several aunts and uncles.
Burial was in the Mills-Horn-Crum Cemetery at Turkey, with arrangements under the direction of Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez.

Linda Bernice Blankenship
1970-2010

A memorial service will be held today, March 12 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Phelps & Son Funeral Home for Linda Bernice Blankenship, 39, of Paintsville, who passed away March 8.
She was born Aug. 4, 1970, in Kentucky, the daughter of the late Carl Douglas Spears and Justine Wilson.
She is survived by her husband, Sam Blankenship; one son, Kyle Jarrett Barker, Paintsville; one daughter, Mariah Paige Barker, Prestonsburg; two brothers, Carl and Timmy Spears, both of N.C.; and one sister, Penny Gasparec, Va.
The service will be conducted by Larry Blair, with arrangements under the direction of Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Paintsville.


James A. “Jimmy” Salyer
1936-2010

Funeral services were held March 11 at 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for James A. “Jimmy” Salyer, 74, of Flat Gap, who passed away March 8 at Highland Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg.
He was born Jan. 3, 1936, in Johnson County, son of the late James Henry and Allie Cantrell Salyer.
He was a retired coal miner.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Charles Salyer, and one sister, Anna Castle.
He is survived by his wife, Celia Wooton Salyer; two sons, Timothy L. (Tona) Salyer and Lonnie B. Salyer, both of Flat Gap; three brothers, Noah Salyer, Huntington, W. Va., Cozy Salyer, West Liberty, and Jesse B.Salyer, Flat Gap; four sisters, Mandie Salyer and Esta Johnson, both of Flat Gap, Moncie Vickers, Dandridge, Tenn., and Lula Gay Salyer, Summerville, W.Va.; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Services were conducted by Windell Kelly and Levi Cantrell, with burial at the J.A. Salyer Cemetery, Flat Gap.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.


Lawrence Craft
1933-2010

Funeral services will be held today, March 12 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carter Funeral Home for Lawrence Craft, 76, of Prestonsburg, who passed away March 9 at his residence.
He was born April 5, 1933 in Prestonsburg, son of the late William “Bill” Craft and Betsie Spradlin.
He was a former steel worker and a U.S. Army veteran.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Craft.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Craft; three daughters, Mattie Rochella (Joe) Craft Sublett, Constance Elaine (Todd) Slone, Blue River, and Tamara Lynette (Bruce Aaron) Davis, Thelma; two brothers, William Arthur Craft, Findlay, Ohio, and George Raymond Craft, McCombs, Ohio; two sisters, Blanche Music and Eunice Miller, both of Findlay, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
Services were conducted by Pastor Jerry Castle Jr., with burial in the Sammons Family Cemetery, Auxier.
Arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home, Prestonsburg.


Martelle Patrick VanHoose
1939-2010

A memorial service will be held March 13 at 4 p.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, for Martelle Patrick VanHoose, 70, formerly of Paintsville, who passed away Feb. 22 in Lubbock, Tex.
The service will be conducted by Gene Strange, senior pastor at Richmond United Methodist Church.
The family kindly requests no flowers be sent.
